To Play PS4 Games on PS5 Disc Model
- Insert PS4 game disc. Might need to download update data.

- Choose LAN or Wi-fi to transfer digital game, save data
- PS4 games in PS5 extended storage can be played directly
Install PS4 Digital Games on PS5
- Select [Game Library] on home screen
- Select which game to play
- Choose [Download] if the game hasn't been downloaded
- Game will automatically install. Some games can be played immediately even if it's still copying.(like PS4 digital games can be played after it downloaded some parts)
- Some PS4 games either it's physical or digital can be upgraded to PS5
When using a PS5 console, you may have the option to upgrade a disc or digital PS4 game to the digital PS5 version. Depending on the game, this upgrade may occur at no additional cost, may require a purchase, and may be available for a limited time. An internet connection is required.
Upgrade an eligible PS4 game on disc on a PS5 console with a disc drive
- To upgrade an eligible PS4 game on disc to the digital PS5 version, you will need a PS5 console with a disc drive. PS4 game discs can’t be used with the PlayStation®5 Digital Edition.
- Sign in to your existing account on your PS5 console (or create an account).
- Insert the eligible PS4 game disc.- Go to the game hub for the PS4 game.
- Select the upgrade offer on the game hub and review the upgrade offer.
- Select Download (or purchase with the discount price) to download/purchase content.
- After the download is complete, you can play the PS5 digital game by inserting the PS4 game disc. You will need to keep the disc inserted each time to play the game.

PS5 Supported Controller
- DualSense Wireless Controller, DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller, officially licensed gamepad controller can be used if the respective PS4 games supported on PS5.
- Officially licensed racing wheel, arcade stick, flight stick, etc can be used if the respective PS4 games supported on PS5
- PS Move Motion Controller, PS VR Shooting Controller can be used if the PS VR game supported on PS5
- When playing PS4, PS VR games, it is recommended to use DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller.
- PS5 games don't support DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller
- To adjust controller vibration on PS5, [Settings] > [Accessories] > [Controllers] > [Vibration Intensity]
- Premium Wireless Surround Headset, Wireless Stereo Headset, USB type audio devices can be used on PS5(Headset Companion Apps not supported)
Restriction on PS5 Backward Compatibility
- SHARE menu can't be displayed when playing PS4 games.
To capture screenshot or record the video, use DualSense Wireless Controller's Create Button. Press Create Button to display Create Menu. Use these shortcut buttons to take screenshot or record video.
- Press Create Button(DualSense) or SHARE Button(DUALSHOCK4) to display Create Menu
- Hold Create Button(DualSense) or SHARE Button(DUALSHOCK4) to take screenshot
- Press Create Button(DualSense) or SHARE Button(DUALSHOCK4) twice to record video manually or stop the recording
- HD Camera can't be used for PS4 games. Please use PS Camera adaptor to connect PS Camera.
- HDR turned on by default on PS5. To turn off HDR, [Settings] > [Screenshot and Video] > [Video Output] > change [HDR] to [SDR]
- Tournament feature on PS4 not supported on PS5
- Live from PlayStation not supported on PS5
- PS4 Second Screen App, Companion App not supported on PS5.
