It has been many years since the plastic models of "Mobile Suit Gundam"created a huge movement in the 1980s and in the midst of the rise of e-sports, "Gunpla Battle" is leading the way in terms of popularity.
In this game, players scan their own Gundam plamodel and fight by controlling a life-size Gundam projected by a special drone. When scanned, "attack power," "defense power," "special moves," and "speed" are displayed in augmented reality (AR), reflecting their abilities.
Therefore, not only piloting skills but also Gunpla creation skills (assembly, painting, weapon modification, etc.) will determine the winner.
The main character, Hiro, formed the team "Bright" with his friends when he was in elementary school. Together, they pooled their pocket money to buy and upgrade one Gunpla (78), aiming to win the regional tournament.
However, the day before the tournament, Hiro lost the Gunpla that was supposed to be in his bag. Hiro gets upset and treats one of the team members as the culprit which lead to a fight.
The team "Bright" does not participate in the tournament, and is disbanded. Four years later, they are in their first year of high school. One day, they are reunited by a message from one of the members.
Pilot Hiro, Build Takumi (in charge of the frame), Programmer Kentaro, Commander Nakamaru and Arma Sota(in charge of weapons). They are once again aiming for the national tournament.
"Bright" are reunited but their differences of opinion lead to various issues.
