Information on the cast and story has not been revealed at this time. Hideaki Anno commented, "This project aims to create a work that fulfills the dreams of adults that have continued since childhood, a work that portrays the dreams of children that remain in our hearts even after we grow up, a work that transposes the epoch-making world of masks created by Shotaro Ishinomori and Toei Ikuta Studio to the present day, and an entertainment work that can be enjoyed even without knowing the original series. This is the first time Anno has worked on a live-action film since 2016 "Shin Godzilla," for which he was the general director.
Akira Onodera, President of Ishimori Productions also commented, "Anno's 'Shin Kamen Rider' is a new work but at the same time it is also the origin of this work. These two works will be mixed once again in this 50th anniversary year. I'm sure my father will be very happy to see this. I'm looking forward to his challenge.
